Unfortunately, his Huatuojiaji philosophy and techniques have been lost over the years. Due to politics, Dr. Huatuo was killed, his book burned and lost from history. Many Chinese doctors have tried to find and revive this system, yet with no success. Today all of the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) schools in China teach Huatuojiaji, but the information taught is unclear. When we read acupuncture textbooks, seldom do we see the usage of the Huatuojiaji method. The Huatuojiaji is a very famous healing system in TCM history. Its fame is from its effectiveness and achievement.

The Tom Tam Healing System is an expansion and development of the lost system of Huatuojiaji, combining the healing modality of the East with the scientific findings of the West. The points in this system are mainly scalp points and points alongside the spine, which in turn frees the blockages of the central nervous system. By doing so, we allow the body to restore its natural path of Qi and bioelectricity.

Our system of diagnosis is not from the tongue and pulse, such as that of traditional acupuncturists, but rather from physical palpation of the patient. Blockages in our system can be physically felt when pressed. Sickness may come from such blockages, and opening these blockages by acupuncture and tui na massage may heal whatever ailments the patients present.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tab][vc_tab title=”Tui Na Massage” tab_id=”31c70c78-3942-7″][vc_column_text]Tui na massage is a form of Chinese massage that allows us to open up physical blockages in the muscular/skeletal framework of our bodies. This integral part of our healing system reduces resistance and blockages in the nervous, circulatory, hormone, and lymphatic systems. As these blockages open, the body can restore its proper flow of blood, oxygen, bioelectricity, and Qi.

Bell and Yvonne have had more than a decade of hands-on experience with patients using tui na massage. They are both skilled in not only applying tui na to the patient to help relieve blockages, but also in teaching the patients and their family and friends on how to take these skills home to further help themselves and each other.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tab][vc_tab title=”Tong Ren Therapy” tab_id=”1451512710716-2-2″][vc_column_text]

What Is Tong Ren?

Tong Ren is a form of energy healing developed by Tom Tam, while he was practicing acupuncture in the Boston area. Tong Ren is a blend of East and West. It relies on Western knowledge of anatomy and physiology as well as Western diagnostics, and combines them with the Eastern concept of maintaining a healthy flow of “chi,” or life force, to maintain health. Many people come for treatment after being diagnosed by a medical doctor, and many conditions that do not respond well to Western medicine respond positively to Tong Ren.

While practicing acupuncture, Tom observed that many people with the same diagnoses had blockages in the same areas of their bodies. Those observations led him to develop the Tong Ren system of points that we use to open the blockages. In Tong Ren, we believe there can be energy blockages in the blood flow, nerve flow, or bioelectrical energy in the body, and that these blockages eventually lead to a state of disease. The goal of Tong Ren is to open and remove the blockages so the body can heal itself. Blockages create resistance, causing the body to function less than perfectly. As the blockages grow, our health deteriorates.

Tong Ren is also based on Jung’s theory of the “collective unconscious,” and is believed to draw its energy from this source. It can be used at a distance as well as in person. Each practitioner contributes to the collective unconscious, so as the belief system has grown, so has the power of the healing available. We use an acupuncture doll as a tool that serves as an energetic representation of the body and a magnetic hammer used to tap on the doll to direct the chi and open energy blockages. People frequently respond with certain sensations, some of which can be physically seen. One of the most common responses is for the skin tone to visibly change during treatment, so one can actually see something is changing. Other responses may include tingling, heaviness, warmth, or a sense of relaxation.

Anyone interested in experiencing Tong Ren is welcome to attend one of the group sessions. Many groups are offered on a donation basis, making it readily available to everyone who would like to participate. Tong Ren is also available via Webcast and through Conference Calls. Many practitioners also offer private sessions.

More information can be found at www.tongrenstation.com. You will also find listings of the Webcasts with links to access them, and Conference Call information located there.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tab][vc_tab title=”Tai Chi / Chi Gong” tab_id=”1451512722876-3-1″][vc_column_text]Tai Chi / Chi Gong exercises and not only weightlifting or typical western exercises — internal exercises to strengthen joints, ligaments…. Physical exercises such as weightlifting and running can increase energy and make the body stronger, but sometimes, these activities are too punishing on our bodies. Exercises such as Chi Gong and Tai Chi are gentle, yet effective in strengthening the body as well as the mind.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tab][/vc_tabs][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row section_id=”about”][vc_column css=”.vc_custom_1451516318379{margin-top: 36px !important;margin-bottom: 36px !important;}”][ctitle title=”About Us” background=”#ffffff”][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/4″][vc_employee image=”168″ name=”Tom”]Add here something about your Employee.[/vc_employee][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/4″][vc_employee image=”169″ name=”Lea”]Add here something about your Employee.[/vc_employee][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/4″][vc_employee image=”170″ name=”Bell”]Add here something about your Employee.[/vc_employee][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/4″][vc_employee image=”171″ name=”Yvonne”]Add here something about your Employee.[/vc_employee][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row parallax=”yes” css=”.vc_custom_1451517944496{margin-bottom: 36px !important;background-image: url(http://www.tamhealing.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/tong-ren-dark.jpg?id=179) !important;}”][vc_column width=”1/2″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_custom_heading text=”We at Tam Healing strive to…” font_container=”tag:p|text_align:right|color:%23ffffff” use_theme_fonts=”yes” css=”.vc_custom_1451518100351{margin-top: 64px !important;margin-bottom: 64px !important;padding-right: 16px !important;padding-left: 16px !important;}”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row section_id=”locations”][vc_column css=”.vc_custom_1451433635159{margin-top: 36px !important;margin-bottom: 36px !important;}”][ctitle title=”Locations” background=”#ffffff”][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/3″][gmap_advanced pop_size=”150px” address=”200 Lincoln St #301 Boston, MA 02111″ zoom=”14″ popup=”no” phone=”(617) 338-6818″][vc_column_text]200 Lincoln St #301
